VHI Price Change, New Plan and Benefit Changes 01.08.2022

The Vhi have announced the following price change effective the 1st of August 2022

PMI 29 12 will decrease in price from €1339.92 per adult to €1278.32 and from €321.17 per child to €308.32. Young adult rates will also decrease on the policy

The launch of a new advanced plan has been announced, effective the 1st of August 2022

PMI 60 10 will cost €1220.16 per adult and €268.48 per child. Young adult rates will start at €357.37

The Vhi have also announced the following additional benefit changes, effective the 1st of August:

PMI 07 10 

Removal of the Child Developmental Assessment benefit - €250 per lifetime

PMI 10 11

Inclusion of gender affirmation supports – 50% up to €3,000 per lifetime

PMI 14 10

Inclusion of gender affirmation supports – 50% up to €3,000 per lifetime

PMI 29 12

Reduction in cover for private room accommodation in private 1, 2 & 3 facilities from full cover subject to an excess of €50 per night to full cover up to the semi-private rate with an excess of €100 per claim

Reduction in cover for private room accommodation in private 1, 2 & 3 facilities for specified Orthopaedic and Ophthalmic procedures from 80% subject to an excess of €50 per night to 80% of the semi-private rate with an excess of €100 per claim

Inclusion of the following Day to Day benefits – 

General practitioner - 50% cover for unlimited visits 

Dental practitioner - 7 visits x €25

Practice nurse - 50% cover for unlimited visits

Physiotherapist - 7 visits x €25

Psychologist - 7 visits x €25

Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physical therapists, Reflexologists - 50% cover for unlimited visits 

Chiropodists/Podiatrists, Occupational therapists, Speech therapists, Orthoptists -50% cover for unlimited visits 

Hearing test in each 2 year period - €20

Accident & emergency cover - 2 visits x €75

Acupuncturists & Dietitian benefit has been amended from €40 per visit; 5 combined visits per renewal year to unlimited visits; 50% cover

Child counselling; Foetal Screening and Paediatrician benefit are now in the Day to Day Section and subject to the annual maximum of €2,000

Travel vaccinations benefit has been amended from €65 per renewal year to €75 per renewal year

The annual excess has been reduced from €125 to €1

The annual maximum has been reduced from €3,200 to €2,000
