Vhi Healthcare price and benefit changes 01.08.2021

Vhi Healthcare have announced the following price and benefit changes as of 01.08.2021:

 

Two plans 'PMI 07 10' and 'PMI 10 12' will decrease in price as of August 1st. 

  • PMI 07 10 will decrease from €1323.02 to €1246.87 per adult and from €328.98 to €296.08. Young Adult rates will also decrease on the plan . 
  • PMI 10 11 will decrease from €1294.86 to €1279.91 per adult and from €358.15 to €354.57. Young Adult rates will also decrease on the plan . 

Two plans 'PMI 14 10' and 'PMI 29 12' will increase in price as of August 1st. 

  • PMI 14 10 will increase from €1366.11 to €1436.58 per adult and from €350.28 to €366.04. Young Adult rates will also increase on the plan. 
  • PMI 29 12 will increase from €1309.73 to €1339.92 per adult and from €314.87 to €321.17. Young Adult rates will also increase on the plan. 

 

The Following Benefit changes will also apply as of 01.08.21: 

PMI 07 10

  • A Psychotherapy & Counselling benefit has been added to the plan providing 7 visits x €30
  • A Child Developmental Assessment benefit has been added to the plan providing a benefit of €250 per lifetime.
  • A Gender Reassignment Supports benefit has been added to the plan providing 50% cover up to €3,000 per lifetime.
  • The Optical benefit has been increased to allow 75% of charges up to €150 in each 24 month period.
  • The Dental Practitioner benefit has been increased to 10 visits X €25.

PMI 10 11

  • The Lifestage Screening benefit has been removed from the plan.
  • The Vhi SwiftCare MIU benefit has been removed from the plan.

PMI 12 11

  • The Vhi SwiftCare MIU benefit will be eligible for use in the Galway Clinic Emergency Department. The existing treatments covered under the SwiftCare MIU benefit will be covered in the Galway Clinic emergency department. The change will be implemented on a big bang basis meaning all members on the plan will receive the change straight away regardless of renewal date.

 

PMI 29 12

  • The Vhi SwiftCare MIU benefit will be eligible for use in the Galway Clinic Emergency Department. The existing treatments covered under the SwiftCare MIU benefit will be covered in the Galway Clinic emergency department. The change will be implemented on a big bang basis meaning all members on the plan will receive the change straight away regardless of renewal date.
     

PMI 53 10

  • A Psychotherapy & Counselling benefit has been added to the plan providing 10 visits x €25.
  • The Physiotherapist benefit has been increased to 12 visits X €25.
  • A Gender Reassignment Supports benefit has been added to the plan providing 50% cover up to €3,000 per lifetime.
  • A new benefit for the Galway Clinic Emergency Department (minor injury clinic) has been added to the plan providing full cover, subject to an excess of €75 per visit.

 

Other Benefit Changes

  • Psychologist benefit – Table of Benefit amendments;

The 'Clinical Psychologist' definition was amended on 1st July making the benefit more accessible for members. The new definition covers a ‘Psychologist’ who is a chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland for at least one of following disciplines - clinical, counselling, educational or psychotherapy.
The term ‘Clinical’ has been removed from the Table of Benefits.
The monetary benefits have not changed in the Table of Benefits.

This change will be introduced on the following plans (PMI 07 10, PMI 10 11, PMI 12 11, PMI 14 10, PMI  29 12 and PMI 53 10). 

 

Inclusion of Hospice Facilities;

Effective from 1st August 2021, three Hospice facilities will be included on PublicPlus Care and PublicPlus Care Day to Day.
The three hospices being included are;

Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin
Milford Hospice, Limerick
Marymount Hospice, Cork

This change will be implemented on a big bang basis meaning members on PublicPlus Care & PublicPlus Care Day to Day will have cover for the hospice facilities from 1st August, regardless of their renewal date.

 

The above changes apply to all new and renewing customer as of 01.08.2021
