Vhi Healthcare New Plan Announcement, Plan Retirements, Price and Benefit Changes 01.09.2022
Vhi Healthcare have announced the launch of 1 new plan 'Advanced Care Extra' as of 01.09.2022.
Advanced Care Extra will be priced at €2740.18 per adult and €635.05 per child. Young Adult Prices will start at €800.32. Further details can be found at the bottom of the page below.

The following benefit changes have also been announced:
1. Mental Health Benefit Changes
- As part of the enhancements to Vhi's mental health proposition we have introduced the following benefits to a number of their plans:
o Mental health assessment - €100 or €200 in every 24 month period in an approved out-patient mental health centre
o Neurodiversity assessment – €250 per lifetime
o Psychologist / Counsellor / Psychotherapist benefit - values range from €20 x 3 visits to €100 x 24 visits on the applicable plans
- AdvancedCare Extra Day-to-Day, Healthplus Extra and Premium Care will see an increase to the Outpatient Mental Health Therapy Benefit from €75 x 12 visits to €100 x 12 visits
- Please note that in order to provide the new mental health benefit structure listed above a number of existing benefits are being retired*:
o Female and male mental health counselling
o Psycho Oncology Counselling
o Psychologist
o Child counselling
o Psychotherapy & Counselling
o Child development assessment
o Adult & Child counselling

New pay and claim back annual Cardiac Review benefit on AdvancedCare Extra Day-to-Day, Healthplus Extra and PremiumCare.
The annual cardiac reviews provides a benefit towards the member’s first consultant cardiologist receipt and one of each of the following diagnostic tests per year; stress test, ECG, holter monitor, blood pressure monitor and/or event monitor.
A benefit for a Direct Pay Cardiac CT scan subject to an excess of €50 per scan has also been included on AdvancedCare Extra Day-to-Day and Healthplus Extra

A benefit of up to €60 per year has been included on the following plans EnhancedCare 150, EnhancedCare 150 Day-to-Day, EnhancedCare 250, EnhancedCare 250 Day-to-Day, EnhancedCare 350 and EnhancedCare 350 Day-to-Day.
A benefit of up to €100 per year has been included on HealthPlus Access and HealthPlus Extra.
3. Accident & Emergency Cover; STI Screening
These benefits are no longer subject to the annual excess or annual maximum on the following plans:

4. PMI 40 15 will receive additional benefit changes:
o Reduction of Day care & in-patient Cardiac FPP Level 1 cover in Blackrock Clinic & Mater Hospital Dublin from 100% cover to 75% cover subject to an excess of €75 per claim
o Radiology / X-rays & scans technical charges updated from 50% cover subject to a maximum of €850 per year to €40 per procedure
o Pathology / Blood tests - technical charges updated from 50% cover subject to a maximum of €850 per year to €40 per referral
o Radiology / X-rays & scans - consultant fees updated from 50% cover to €60 per procedure
o Pathology / Blood tests - consultant fees updated from 50% cover to €60 per referral
o Consultant visits updated from 50% cover unlimited visits to €60 per visit unlimited visits
o Fertility Acupuncturists/Dietitians updated from €40 per visit x 5 combined visits to €25 per visit x 12 combined visits

· The following family benefits have been updated:
o Child home nursing €100 per day; 14 days per calendar year to €100 per day; 28 days per calendar year
o Parent accompanying child following a stay in excess of 3 days in hospital €40 per day; 14 days per calendar year to €100 per day; 14 days per calendar year
· Convalescent care has been updated from - first 14 nights towards the cost of semi-private or private room accommodation €51 per night to €50 per night
· Inclusion of Return home benefit - €100 per claim
· Cancer Care Support - Accommodation, travel & parking costs has been updated to up to €100 per treatment to a maximum of €1,500 per calendar year
· The annual maximum for Additional cancer support benefits; Wig/ hairpiece, sleeping cap, post-mastectomy bra, swimsuit, surgical prosthesis following cancer treatment has been increased from €3,200 per year to €5,000 per year
· The benefit for Approved medical & surgical appliances has been updated from 100% cover subject to an excess of €300 and an annual maximum of €3,200 per year to 75% cover; no excess and an annual maximum of €5,000 per year
· The benefit for Medfit cardiac care programme; €250 per 2 year period has been reduced to €200 per 2 year period
· The benefit for Medfit cardiac rehabilitation programme and Urgent cardiac care benefit have been reduced from €250 per year to €200 per year.

8. PMI 19 11 will receive additional benefit changes:
o Inclusion of Gender affirmation supports – 50% up €3000 per lifetime
